Keith and Sue visited New Hartford (in New York State) in 2004, and it marked their 10th Hartford of their Hartford Hunters tour.
New Hartford is situated in Oneida County. As of the 2000 census, the town population was 21,172. The town was named by a settler family from Hartford, Connecticut. Tim Crowe was the first to settle in Hartford in 1766, and bought 1,000 acres of land for $0.50. He then went on to build his home, a saw mill and a grist mill.
42% of New Hartford residents aged 25 and older have a bachelor's or advanced college degree.
According to the US Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 25.5 square miles (of which 0.1 square miles of it is water).
